Today, RÚV English Radio is in Raufarhöfn, in north east Iceland.
The two former fish oil tanks in the town of Raufarhöfn have now been beautifully repurposed as artistic spaces (https://tankarnir.is/upcoming/).
This Sunday a chamber opera called A Thin Veneer on a Fiery Pool will be performed in one of the tanks, while on August 8 you can enjoy Heart Ember - a piece combining electronic music and live metal forging.
Darren met filmmaker Ásdís Thoroddsen in the tanks to hear about the works, and plans for the structures.
RÚV English Radio is heard around the world and in Iceland, celebrating Icelandic culture, art, music, language, and more.
