Episode 63 - EUROVISION NOT THE ONLY DIVERSITY CELEBRATION

Today, RÚV English is in Breiðholt, and looking ahead to Saturday.

This weekend, Reykjavík's family and petting zoo (Fjölskyldu- og húsdýragarðurinn) will play host to the Ambassadors in Breiðholt celebration of diversity in the capital suburb. A "cultural garden" will be set up in the zoo, with food and beverage tastings, craft sales and workshops, and performances from a variety of artists.

Ambassadors in Breiðholt is a grassroots project that connects various cultural and linguistic groups in the community.

Darren talks today to Tanya Korolenko about Saturday's festival and the work that is done to help newcomers to Iceland, not just in Breiðholt but across the country. (And as a Ukrainian, she also has a couple of thoughts about Eurovision...)
