Episode 246 - THE HOUSE OF HALLDÓR LAXNESS

Today, RÚV English Radio visits the home of one of Iceland's most important figures.

Gljúfrasteinn (https://www.gljufrasteinn.is/) was the home and workplace of Halldór Laxness (winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1955) and his family for more than half a century.

It has been opened to the public as a museum, unchanged from when Laxness lived there.

Darren was guided round the house by Guðný Dóra Gestsdóttir.

RÚV English Radio is daily radio coverage of everything Icelandic - news, culture, music, language, events, people, places and more, in the English language.
