Episode 254 - ÉG HEITI STEINN/MY NAME IS STONE

Today, RÚV English Radio finds out about a wordless play for children, at Reykjavík's Tjarnarbíó.

"Ég heiti Steinn" (My Name is Stone") is a half-musical show that uses pantomime to explore the search for self-identity, diversity, empathy, communication, and value.

Steinn is a little pebble trying to find its footing in the world of large rocks. He meets the stone named Urður and the mischievous rock Berg, and initially, they don´t get along at all. However, as the story progresses, they realise that despite their differences, they can indeed be good friends.

As spoken language is not used, the show is aimed at children of all backgrounds and languages.

Ég heiti Steinn is on at Tjarnarbíó (https://www.tjarnarbio.is/syningar/eg-heiti-steinn) this Sunday, February 4, at 2pm. Tickets at https://tix.is/is/buyingflow/tickets/16056/

Darren met with the creator of the show, Lucas Rastoll-Mamalia, to find out more.
