Chromo Sapiens is a monumental, multi-sensory, large-scale installation, consisting of three caves made from the artist Shoplifter's signature material: synthetic hair extensions.
It is a permanent installation at Höfuðstöðin, a converted potato nursey and barracks now located in Elliðaárdalur, an extraordinary building now showing little trace of its original purposes!
Creative producer and co-founder of Höfuðstöðin, Lilja Baldursdóttir, met with Darren, and took him through the installation.
