Episode 73 - AT THE HOF: THE HEART OF AKUREYRI'S CULTURAL LIFE

RÚV English is in Akureyri today, at The Hof - the city's striking cultural centre.

Hof Cultural Centre attracts thousands of guests from all over the country and internationally with cultural and artistic events, concerts, conferences, meetings and much more. The circular building's exterior is inspired by Icelandic igneous rocks.

Darren met up with Eva Hrund Einarsdóttir, manager of The Akureyri Culture Company (Menningarfélag Akureyrar - https://www.mak.is/en), and also Þórgnýr Dýrfjörður, director of culture, marketing and tourism at Akureyri City, to hear about the artistic and cultural life of the city and northern Iceland, and how the areas punch well above their weight, both within Iceland and internationally.
