Today, RÚV English Radio is at the Grenjaðarstaður turf house.
The historic settlement of Grenjaðarstaður in Aðaldalur is one of Iceland’s largest turf houses (https://www.husmus.is/en/grenjadarstadur), around 30 km south of Husavik.
The house is unique, primarily insulated with lava rocks, and the interior is panelled with driftwood.
The house is available for booked group visits after August 15 - but today on RÚV English Radio, you can tour the turf house with Darren and guide Styrmir Franz Snorrason.
RÚV English Radio is heard around the world and in Iceland, celebrating Icelandic culture, art, music, language, and much more.
