A Traffic Tragedy at Núpsvötn

One of the worst traffic accidents in Iceland's history happened at the river Núpsvötn in southern Iceland at the end of December, 2018. This is the story of two survivors: a father and his daughter.

Over the last decade, 119 people have died in traffic accidents in Iceland, a country of 376,000 people. A large percentage of those who died were foreign tourists.
