The song by Daði & Gagnamagnið that will represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest this May is a direct follow on from Think About Things, Daði says: “The song is about the fact that Árný and I have been together for ten years, and how love strengthens with time.”

The song, it has therefore been revealed today, will be called “10 Years” and will be sung in English, as previously announced, on stage in Rotterdam this May. Daði says he is not ready to make the lyric public yet, but confirms the song is about his ten years together with Árný Fjóla and the child they have together.

“The song is about the fact that Árný and I have been together for ten years. How our love has strengthened with time. The ‘record cover’ is a picture of the face on Árný’s jumper, just as Think About Things was with my face. This is reall something of a direct follow-on from Think About Things, this song,” Daði Freyr says, adding that he is excited to find out what people think of the song. “Now I can’t wait to see the reaction to the song. I’ve put everything into it and hope it reaches to people. I’m not joking with this at least.”

A two-part documentary about Daði & Gagnamagnið will be shown on RÚV TV the coming two Saturday evenings, introducing viewers to the band’s story since first taking part in the national competition for Eurovision hopefuls in 2017.

The song itself will premiere in the first episode of Straumar, a new music and entertainment show, on Saturday 13th March, on RÚV.
