The Tintron Rescue Team (Hjálparsveitin Tintron) received yesterday an unusual call, which informed about four sheep which got stuck high up on a mountain. According to the information, the animals were seen there already two weeks ago. When the team arrived, there was only one sheep to be seen.

The accounts of the story were described on the Team’s Facebook website. Tintron Team is a part of the ICE-SAR Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (Slysavarnarfélagið Landsbjörg).

At first, they attempted to scare the sheep of using a drone, but the animal did not seem to be bothered. Later, the rescuers decided to decent to the sheep. When they arrived at the spot, the ram was startled and started running away. This resulted in a fall, but with no apparent harm to the animal which continued its way.

The intervention team consisted of eight rescue volunteers and a farmer with his dog, which was there in case the need for herding the flock arose.

Here below is possible to see the film taken by the drone.
