Bardarbunga keeps subsiding at a similar pace as in recent days. Scientists in the field have not observed significant changes of the lava eruption at Holuhraun lava field, and there are no signs that the eruption is fading out.

About 120 earthquakes were recorded in the area from midnight until 18:50 GMT, according to the Icelandic Met Office. Over 20 were sourced in the Bardarbunga caldera, six over magnitude 3. The largest were of magnitude 4.7 at 06:45 GMT and magnitude 4.3 at 14:48. Both occurred at the northeastern rim of Bardarbunga caldera. The last earthquake over magnitude 5 was a M5.3 on Thursday afternoon.

This graph shows the subsidence of Bardarbunga caldera in meters in the last two days. The graph at the bottom shows earthquakes in the area in the same period. Notice the sudden increase in subsidence when the M5.3 earthquake struck Thursday.
