Iceland's 35th covid casualty

A man in his seventies has died this week as a result of COVID-19, it has been confirmed. He becomes the 35th coronavirus casualty in Iceland.

The death was confirmed to RÚV by chief epidemiologist Þórólfur Guðnason. Further details were not provided.

It is not known whether the man was vaccinated, but he did have underlying medical concernes, sources say, and lost his battle with the virus after a long fight.
