Everyone who has not been vaccinated against coronavirus is welcome to come to Laugardalshöll Sport Hall in Reykjavik to receive Janssen vaccine from 12 today while the supply lasts. Ragnheiður Ósk Erlendsdóttir, the director of the nursing department of the capital region, confirms that in a conversation with the news agency.

The plan was to have an open house from 14:00 today but the supply is larger than expected and the decision has been made to open at noon. Ragnheiður Ósk especially encourages those recovered from COVID-19 and people born on and before 2002.

Tomorrow, on Wednesday, Pfizer vaccine will be used. On Thursday, it was planned to vaccinate using AstraZeneca product, but the delivery has not reached Iceland, so it will be postponed. According to the estimates, 33.000 people should be vaccinated this week; all together 18.000 using Pfizer vaccine, of which 8.500 will receive a first dose, 10.000 will get Janssen, and more than 5.000 people in the countryside will receive a second dose of AstraZeneca.
