Víðir Reynisson, state police civil protection chief, says he still lacks physical stamina and has no sense of taste or smell, three months after suffering from COVID-19 infection.

"I am still battling several difficulties. I have no sense of smell and no taste. My endurance has still not fully recovered. There are several physical things that are still affecting me. Today marks three months since I became infected. I don’t recommend anybody to get this [disease],” Víðir told reporters yesterday.

Víðir was diagnosed with COVID-19 at the end of November and became quite sick. He had a bad case of pneumonia and was under active surveillance on the COVID ward at Landspítali national university hospital.

He has previously admitted that falling ill came as much as a mental crisis as anything.
