
Iceland will play against Portugal again this Sunday, at 16.00, in the second match of the Euro qualification campaign—this time as Ásvellir in Hafnarfjörður.
The team heads next for Egypt, where the World Championships are taking place. All Iceland’s games at the Worlds will be shown live on RÚV and Rás 2 radio. Many other matches will also be televised live—most of them on RÚV 2.
Iceland is in Group F in Egypt, alongside Portugal, Algeria, and Marocco. Three of the four teams will advance to the second round of the competition, where Norway, France, and Austria will almost certainly await them. The USA is the fourth team in Group E, but is considered highly unlikely to progress.
Iceland’s confirmed and likely world cup games to date are:
14th January, against Portugal (following European championship qualifiers against Portugal on 06th and 10th January as well), at 16.00
16th January, against Algeria, at 19.30
18th January, against Marocco, at 19.30
Second-round games on 20th, 22nd, and 24th January, opposition TBC
The top two teams from each second-round group advance to the quarter-finals on 27th January.
The semi-finals will be on 29th January and the final on 31st.
