The song has not yet been written, but Daði Freyr and his Gagnamagnið colleagues already know that they will perform for Iceland in the first half of the second Eurovision Song Contest semi-final in Rotterdam on 20th May 2021.

Iceland was the sixth country selected at random to fight for a spot in the Grand Final on Saturday 22nd May.

Austria, Moldova, Poland, San Marino, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Estonia will also join Iceland in the first half of the second semi.

After the commercial break, Denmark, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Finland, Armenia, Latvia, Georgia, Portugal, and Albania will take to the stage.

The news this week is not the result of a new draw, but rather the result of a decision to let the draw for this year’s competition stand unchanged. The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was famously cancelled for the first time sinch its inception, thanks to the pandemic.
