The man who died in a fire in a camper van on land at Torfastaðir in South Iceland on Friday night was called Eianr Jónsson, police confirmed today.

Einar's legal address was in Reykjavík, though he had reportedly lived in the camper van at several loctions for some time. Einar was born in 1982 and was childless and unmarried.

A postmortem examination yesterday came to the working conclusion that Einar died from a lack of oxygen as the vehicle burnt. Police are now waiting for the full, final report into the death, as well as forensics results from the scene. That time-consuming work could take several weeks.

No further information on the investigation is available at this time.
