Ólafur Arnalds nominated for Emmy

The Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds has been nominated for an Emmy award for his theme music for the television mini-series Defending Jacob. He is nominated alongside four other musicians in the category of original theme tunes. The rapper RZA is nominated in the same category.

Ólafur already has an impressive musical career behind him and he is particularly well-known for his eight albums and his musical compositions for television and films. He won a BAFTA award in 2014 for his music for the British television series Broadchurch. 

The Emmy nominations were announced yesterday.  

Eight television series were nominated for best drama: Better Call Saul, The Crown, The Handmaid's Tale, Killing Eve, The Mandalorian, Ozark, Stranger Things, and Succession.  

The nominations for best comedy went to: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dead to Me, Insecure, Schitt's Creek, The Good Place, The Kominsky Method, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and What We Do in the Shadows.
